The production of halogens (chlorine, fluorine, bromine, iodine), organochlorine synthesis, and related halogen chemical processes generate highly reactive liquid residues classified under code 06 07 Waste from the production, preparation, supply and use of halogens and halogen chemical processes, including those arising from the formation of specific solutions and acids (for example, hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid, or acids obtained by contact or absorption processes).
This category includes spent halogen-containing acids, acidic absorption solutions, wash water and process liquids generated during gas treatment, hydrogen halide absorption or the synthesis of chemical compounds. As these substances have pronounced corrosive properties, high toxicity and the ability to release aggressive vapors, they pose a serious environmental hazard.
Strict industrial and chemical safety regulations must be observed, as concentrated acids and halogen-containing solutions can cause severe burns, damage building structures and pose a risk of toxic contamination of the air and water environment in the event of an uncontrolled leak.
They must never be discharged into open water bodies or municipal sewage systems or disposed of by landfilling. Enterprises are required to arrange sealed temporary storage in special acid-resistant containers (lined tanks or specialized polymer containers) with leak-tightness monitoring, and to transfer them exclusively to licensed operators. The most appropriate approach to managing this waste is regeneration or controlled chemical neutralization.
Relatively clean spent solutions and acids can undergo evaporation or purification processes for recovery and reuse, while acidic materials unsuitable for regeneration are subject to thorough neutralization using alkaline reagents to form safe salts or are treated at specialized facilities.
LLC “DSL-2010” has all the necessary permits and authorizations to carry out its activities:
