Specialized inorganic synthesis, pyrolysis and other technological operations generate specific solid and fine particulate residues classified under code 06 13 Waste from other inorganic chemical processes. This category includes such a valuable material as carbon black, as well as various other mineral and chemical residues of inorganic origin.
Since these substances have high dispersibility and specific physicochemical properties, they require careful control during their generation and accumulation at the enterprise.
Environmentally responsible management of such waste requires strict compliance with industrial and fire safety regulations, as fine powdered materials and carbon black can generate significant amounts of dust, creating explosive dust concentrations in the air of the working area, as well as polluting the environment.
They must never be stored in the open, scattered across production areas, or transported to ordinary municipal landfills without protection from wind and precipitation. Enterprises are required to arrange sealed temporary storage in special enclosed bunkers, big bags or airtight containers, transferring them to specialized operators.
The most appropriate approach to managing this waste is its reuse and extensive recycling in industrial processes.
In particular, high-quality carbon black is widely used as a highly effective reinforcing filler in the production of rubber products, automotive tires, dyes and plastics, while other inorganic process residues undergo enrichment, stabilization or safe disposal at specialized industrial waste landfills.
